Step-by-Step Shower & Bath Installation
Renovation Process
A typical 5-day custom shower installation, including bathtub-to-shower conversions. Following each step carefully ensures long-lasting results without leaks.
Day 01: Prep & Demolition
- Technicians arrive and prep the work area (tape, paper, tarps).
- Remove drains, escutcheons, and address plumbing/electrical needs.
- Cut out and remove existing drywall, tile, and bathtubs if applicable.
- Secure materials for the foundation of your new shower.
- Select and finalize your tile design by the end of the day.
Customer decides on trash removal: optional nominal fee or DIY.
Day 02: Framing & Waterproofing
- Build and secure curbs and wall structures with pressure-treated lumber.
- Construct niches, prepare walls, and connect drains.
- Install liner, Hardie Backer, and pour mud pan for shower base.
- Apply Red Guard waterproofing and slope correctly for drainage.
- If a bathtub is included, set and connect drains as needed.
Day 03: Wall Tile Installation
- Custom cut and install wall tiles around all sides of curb and niches.
- Ensure walls and corners are aligned and leveled.
Day 04: Mud Pan & Decorative Tile
- Install floor tiles in the mud pan.
- Design and install marble on top of curb and knee/pony wall.
Day 05: Finishing Touches
- Complete any remaining tile installations.
- Install marble in niches, curb, and knee/pony wall.
- Grout walls and apply grout caulk in corners.
- Install escutcheons, faucet system, and drains.
- Allow proper drying: 24 hours for tiles, 24 hours for grout before use.
Day 06: Customer Approval
- Customer inspects and provides feedback on completed work.
Note: We do not work on Sundays. Always add 20% extra tile for waste and future repairs.
